I've spent my career on two problems: how to build systems that scale, and how people actually stay close.

The first led me to co-found a startup that became Twitter's largest acquisition.

The second led me to formal training in psychology - and is why I write.

Both reward the same thing - the patience to understand how something works from the inside, and the will to build something better.

Still that kid asking why. Now with more bells and whistles. Especially whistles.
